Tega Cay City Council members will decide on a new curbside collection contract, an emergency bypass pump and three other procurement items when they meet Monday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m.
The agenda lists five new-business items. Members will consider bid awards for the curbside collection contract, a classification study and an emergency bypass pump. They will also weigh approval of grant proposals through the Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) and vote on whether to purchase a lead truck.
The curbside collection contract covers the city's residential trash and recycling pickup, a service that touches every household in Tega Cay. The city's public notice does not list bid amounts, vendor names or contract values for any of the three bid awards.
No details on the lead truck's cost, make, model or intended department appeared in the notice.
MASC grant proposals
The MASC grant proposals would draw from the association's IMPACT Fund, short for Innovative Municipal Projects for Advancing Change and Transformation. The fund launched in 2025 and offers two tiers to member cities: Problem Solver Grants at $25,000 and Big Idea Grants at $100,000. Each member city may apply for one of the two programs per year. Both require a 5% local match.
Which tier Tega Cay is pursuing and what project the grant would fund were not specified in the agenda notice.
Proclamations and recognition
Beyond procurement, the council will recognize its Employees of the Quarter and issue proclamations for Constitution Day and Fire Prevention Week.
How to attend
The meeting takes place in Council Chambers at Tega Cay City Hall, 7725 Tega Cay Drive. The full agenda packet is posted on the city's agenda center. The city's next regularly scheduled council meeting date has not been posted.
