Fort Mill High School kicker Noah Hardy will represent the Yellow Jackets in the 90th Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas after being named to the South Carolina roster Sunday, Sept. 27.
Hardy is the only player from the Fort Mill School District on the 44-player South Carolina squad, according to rosters first reported by the Rock Hill Herald. The annual all-star game pits top public school seniors from South Carolina against their North Carolina counterparts.
The game is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19, at Viking Stadium on the campus of Spartanburg High School, according to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas website. Proceeds benefit Shriners Children's hospitals.
Hardy, a senior listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds and a 4.4 weighted GPA, handles both kicking and punting for Fort Mill. He trains with Dan Orner Kicking, according to his verified X profile. Fort Mill Prep Sports reported on X that Hardy drilled a 27-yard field goal in the Yellow Jackets' win over Catawba Ridge on Friday, Aug. 28, pushing Fort Mill's lead to 30-10.
TW Sports Talk, a Fort Mill-area high school sports account, posted on X after the rosters dropped:
@TWSportsTalk: "Fort Mill kicker and punter Noah Hardy (@Noah_Hardy27) has been selected to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. A well-earned honor for the Yellow Jacket standout."
Hardy's selection marks a return to the Shrine Bowl for the Fort Mill program. No Fort Mill School District player appeared on the South Carolina roster for the 89th game in 2025. That year, the area's five selections came from South Pointe, Northwestern and Indian Land, according to a WRHI report.
The Shrine Bowl traces its roots to Dec. 4, 1937, in Charlotte. The organization calls it the oldest high school football all-star game in the nation.
Dwayne Garrick of Blackville-Hilda will serve as head coach for the South Carolina squad. His staff includes assistants from Bamberg-Ehrhardt, Dorman, Woodland, Powdersville, Fairfield Central and Woodmont.
Hardy earned Fort Mill High School's Athlete of the Week honor as a sophomore in November 2024, as reported by the Tega Cay Sun. He now heads into the final stretch of his senior season before joining the South Carolina squad in Spartanburg in December.
