Bass Pro Shops plans to fill more than 50 positions in the Charlotte-area market through a two-day hiring event at its Fort Mill store starting Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The outdoor retailer's location at 1000 Cabela Drive will hold walk-in interviews from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 8, as first reported by the Tega Cay Sun. The event is part of a national hiring push across all Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's stores in the United States and Canada.
Nearly 200 retail locations are participating in the annual effort, according to a company press release issued Thursday, Oct. 1. The Fort Mill store is one of those sites, and the company said it is targeting the broader Charlotte-area market with its 50-plus openings. It is not clear from available materials whether that figure applies to the Fort Mill store alone or includes other regional locations.
Seasonal, full-time and part-time roles are available across multiple retail departments. Most positions require applicants to be at least 18 years old. Specific job titles and wage ranges were not listed in the company's public announcements.
The hiring push is timed to the holiday shopping season and the return of Santa's Wonderland, an annual in-store attraction where families can visit Santa and take part in holiday activities. A start date for Santa's Wonderland at the Fort Mill store has not been announced.
The company said eligible employees receive merchandise discounts of up to 50 percent, holiday and vacation pay, and health, dental and life insurance. Bass Pro Shops encouraged applicants to apply in advance through its careers page, though walk-ins are welcome at the event.
